Care instructions Polar Puffer C24 down jacket

Can you wash our Polar Puffer C24? Here's how to wash and dry our down jacket correctly.

Down is very durable and retains its high insulating capacity and loft for many years. With proper care, this can be renewed time and again.

Three things are important to ensure that the Polar Puffer becomes your companion for a long time: Careful handling, the right detergent, and careful drying are essential for restoring the fluffiness.

Wash:
Wash as infrequently as possible and only when necessary. Close all zippers, empty the pockets, and turn the down jacket inside out.

Wash the jacket individually in a large washing machine drum with a capacity of at least 6kg at 30°C in the delicate or wool program and at 400-600 revolutions.

Use special down detergents, as conventional detergents destroy the keratin in the down. Therefore, an enzyme-free down detergent is necessary to avoid damage..

An additional rinse cycle is recommended after the main wash.

Carefully remove the down jacket from the drum to avoid damaging the material. & Avoid damaging seams with the weight of the moisture and allow them to dry carefully.

Dry:
Ideally, use a tumble dryer with a capacity of at least 6 kg. If one is not available, a laundromat is recommended, as a tumble dryer makes it considerably easier to fluff up the jacket again.

Select a low (cold) temperature of 40-60°C and dry using the short program.

Add 2-3 tennis/dryer balls; they help with fluffing.

After the first drying cycle (it will usually still be damp or wet), carefully remove the down jacket from the drum and gently shake it out. Gently push any clumps of down you can feel into the center of the baffles.

If necessary, repeat this drying process until very little residual moisture is noticeable (cupboard dry).

After drying, shake the Polar Puffer well, then spread them loosely on a drying rack and let them dry completely overnight. Finally, shake them one last time.
